Tonya Wyatt is a dedicated professional in the Early Childhood Education field with a passion for nurturing and shaping young minds. Tonya embarked on her journey in 1992 and has since worn many hats, starting as an assistant teacher and progressing through roles such as lead teacher, assistant director, and director.

Equipped with an associate degree in early childhood education, Tonya possesses a wealth of knowledge and expertise that she channels into making a positive impact on the lives of young children during their formative years. Her commitment to creating a nurturing environment is reflected in her various roles, where she strives to contribute to the holistic development of the children under her care.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Tonya finds joy in spending quality time with her family. Her love for crafting, particularly cross-stitching, showcases her creative side and serves as a therapeutic outlet. Tonya’s dedication to community involvement is further evident in her role as a Girl Scout Leader for the past ten years, where she imparts valuable life skills and experiences to the next generation of young girls.

Alix Borchert serves as the Assistant Director at The Nest, bringing a wealth of experience and passion to the field of early childhood education. Since 2017, Alix has been dedicated to nurturing young minds and fostering a love of learning. She holds a Master’s degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Science.

Throughout her career, Alix has taken on various pivotal roles including Lead Teacher, Lead Kindergarten-Prep, and Education Coordinator. Her dedication to early childhood education is fueled by her love for observing the unique ways in which children learn and grow. Alix finds immense joy in witnessing the moment a child understands a new concept or masters a new skill.

In her spare time, Alix enjoys quilting and crafting, reading, spending time with her family, and participating in competitive dog sports. She values genuine human connections, which always bring a smile to her face. Described as loyal, stubborn, and passionate, Alix is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of the children and families at The Nest.

Corinne has been in the early childhood education field since 1998 and holds her bachelor’s in early childhood education. She has held many titles in this field, including Lead Teacher, Pre-K Lead Teacher, Assistant Director, Director, and now Regional Director. She is also an NC state-registered SIDS Trainer!

In her spare time, Corinne enjoys time with her daughter Skyla, her family, and her dog, Mr. Biscuit. You can often find them watching movies together!

Our Cardinal program supports older toddlers and their increased independence, exploration of emotions and feelings, and fast-developing use of language. The early preschool years are nothing short of amazing! Children at this age have an overwhelming eagerness to learn and you will notice that their ability to experiment, explore, and focus on set activities begins to change rapidly. Our Penguin program supports young preschoolers and their need to be challenged, engaged, and encouraged in their learning and personal interests.

The older preschool years consist of so much learning and development! Their peer relationships are strengthening, they have a more complex understanding and use of language, and their overall motor skills have developed rapidly. Full-time, Private

GREAT things come from great BEGINNINGS! Our private kindergarten programs will help your child excel in a small classroom environment giving them a successful start to their elementary years. Our comprehensive curriculum will use a mix of requirements from the Department of Education alongside our Nest Play curriculum to prepare children for first grade and beyond.

Pelicans / Before & After School

Our School Age program provides children with opportunities for exploration, creativity, and fun challenges to support them in becoming their best selves. Our program consists of a mix of guided activities planned by the children and teacher-guided activities.

Summer Fun for Your Child

Summer is one of the things children look forward to the most. School’s out, and children are ready to get back to their much-awaited playtime. But instead of letting your child become glued to TV screens, computers, or mobile devices watching cartoons or playing video games, this may be the perfect time to encourage them to engage in activities that offer the right balance between learning and fun.
