Meet Our Team

Kiva Goad

Kiva has been in early childhood education since 1985. She has an associate degree in Early Childhood Education and Development and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology.

Kiva has served in many roles throughout her career! She has served as a teacher, assistant director, and now director. Kiva’s staff, children, and families each hold a special place in her heart, and she loves that early childhood education allows her to make a difference in the lives of many.

Kiva and her husband have two wonderful boys, and in her spare time she enjoys working in her flower garden. Her favorite childhood book is Amelia Bedelia because she always saw things outside of the box and took words literally. Amelia Bedelia also reminds Kiva a lot of herself. We are so lucky to have Kiva on our team!

Heather Powell

Heather Powell started in Early Childcare as a nanny twenty years ago and since has held multiple positions within the field. She has worked with infants and toddlers; she also is certified in Early Intervention and Early Childhood Education, and is three hours shy of her associate’s degree.

Heather grew up with her mom in the early childhood education field and learned that while children are in childcare, they may be getting the most love, the best food, and the most supportive environment they may have all week. A child’s foundation starts in the early years and Heather wants to make sure she gives every child she can an opportunity to start out with the best success possible!

Heather is married to her best friend, Greg! Together they have the “sweetest but wildest children”, Vincent and Rosalee. As a family, they love camping, playing games, swimming, and spending time together! A fun fact about Heather is that her husband and her met in Virginia, moved to Oklahoma for him to receive his Ph. D, and now resides in North Carolina! They love to travel and explore new places with their children, also.

Heather’s favorite childhood book is The Foot Book by Dr. Seuss as it was the first book that Heather learned to read by herself, therefore she read it over and over again until she eventually learned to read other books. We are so lucky to have Heather on our team!

Krista Lewis

Krista has been in the early childhood education field since 1996 and has a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family studies. She has served in many roles throughout her career, from serving as a floater, teacher, cook, lead teacher, assistant director, director, and now regional director. She can do it all! Krista has always had a special place in her heart for children, and she loves being able to make a difference in children’s lives every day.

Krista lives with her husband, son, daughter, and their dog in Thomasville. Krista’s biggest fear has always been flying, but she recently overcame that fear on a trip to Chicago and will fly again with less anxiety! Her favorite childhood book is The Baby-Sitters Club because she likes that it is about friends that will accept each other no matter what. We love having Krista on our team!
