Emily Penwell

Emily Penwell has been in the early childcare field for over 36 years and comes to The Nest Schools with a wealth of experience. She holds a CDA and has worked with children of all ages throughout her career.

Emily loves working with children and has four children of her own. All of them are grown and have moved out – all four have wildly different careers: one is a nurse, another is a teacher, one does hair, and the other is in the Army! A fun fact about Emily is that she does not like pizza, and her husband is a US postal service driver. Her favorite book is the Very Hungry Caterpillar!

Jessica Collins

Jessica Collins has been in the Early Childcare Field for 22 years and comes to The Nest Schools with her CDA in preschool. She also is planning on returning to school to obtain her associates degree in ECE!

She began her career in childcare when she was a senior in high school and was in the ECE program at her local vocational school. Jessica has always been drawn to caring for children. She started out babysitting as soon as she was old enough and continued on from there. She loves to work with children, especially witnessing those “Ah Ha” moments. Helping a child learn and grow is a great experience!

Family is very important to Jessica! She loves spending time with her family. She has two daughters and they love to travel and spend time outdoors! We love having Jessica on our team!

Fun fact: I am obsessed with the color purple!

Childhood book:
Berenstain Bears were always my favorite! They were made to help children learn how to read. I loved reading them and seeing what fun things they would be doing in each story.

Christie Stemplinski

Christie Stemplinski has been working in early childhood education since 2002 after having earned her Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education from Hiram College.

She is passionate about the growth and development of children and loves being able to witness many “a-ha moments!” She also loves that every single day is different and exciting!

Christie and her dog, Capone, live in Tremont, Ohio. Living close by are her parents in Parma Heights and her brother with his family in Berea. Her other brother lives in Los Angeles!

Christie moved to Ohio from Los Angeles, never having been and without a job! Christie has ended up staying and has made countless memories since.

Christie has two favorite childhood books: Charlotte’s Web and Oh, the Places you’ll go! Charlotte’s Web was her first ever chapter book to read completely on her own. She then went on to read this same book to her school-age classes while she was a teacher.

Oh, the Places You’ll Go! is a story she still loves to read to this day. She also loves to give this book as a gift to others! Christie believes reading about being a dreamer, a discoverer, an explorer will help you become inspired to become a dreamer, a discoverer, and explorer yourself!

We love having Christie on our team!
