Stargaze
Pull out the blankets and hot tea, and lay beneath the night sky and appreciate the twinkling stars. Make sure to turn off all the lights in the house to reduce light pollution, as well! You can even print out constellation maps and see if you can point them out!
Go to the Drive-in Movie Theater
Nothing is like seeing a great movie on the big screen, but with the weather change, it’s even better to see a movie outdoors! Bring the family to an age-appropriate movie and enjoy classic movie snacks at a drive-in movie experience. Don’t worry if you don’t have a drive-in near you, a sheet and a projector in the backyard will do just fine!

Take a Beach Stroll
You can still enjoy fall even if you don’t live by the mountains. If you live near a beach, you can enjoy the change in weather and take a stroll in the crisp air. Enjoy a fantastic sunrise, holding your children’s hands and walking together across the sand. Make sure to bring a blanket in case it gets too chilly!
Bring Camping to Your Backyard
Make your own camping experience within the confines of your own backyard! Pitch the tent and break out the s’mores and flannels. It’s time to get cozy underneath the stars (plus, if the air mattress and tent aren’t comfy, you can walk back inside the house at the end of the night!)
Create a Gratitude List
Fall is the perfect time to practice gratitude, especially with the whole family. Take a night to watch a movie on gratitude and ask your children what they find they are grateful for in their life. Share your own gratitude list with them – you just might be grateful for the same thing or each other!
